COVID-19 Information for Child Care Centres

The EOHU recommends that patrons and staff of child care centres use the COVID-19 School and Child Care Screening tool prior to and upon their arrival at the child care centre.

COVID-19 Management in Child Care Settings

Although the COVID-19 Management in School Toolkit was developed for the school setting, this suite of tools can also be used by child care centres (licenced or private) to manage possible or confirmed COVID-19 cases in their establishments.

Licensed Child Care Centres:

As of September 1, 2020, child care centres may return to maximum group sizes as set out under the CCEYA (i.e., licensed age groups prior to the COVID-19 outbreak). All child care settings must operate with enhanced health and safety measures in place. Please consult the documents below for more information:

Private Child Care Services with 5 Children or Less:

The EOHU is advising that private daycares with 5 children or less can resume operations if they choose, provided they take the required infection control measures described in the document below:
