Respiratory Illness Clinical Assessment Centres

Respiratory illness clinical assessment centres test, assess and provide treatment to those with symptoms of respiratory illnesses like a cold, flu, COVID-19, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and other viral respiratory illnesses, and help alleviate the strain on emergency rooms.

You should visit an assessment centre if you are experiencing respiratory illness symptoms and require medical attention but do not have a primary care provider, or if you are directed to by your primary care provider.

Common COVID-19 and respiratory illness symptoms can include:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough (not related to other causes)
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Decreased or loss of taste or smell
  • Runny nose or nasal congestion
  • Extreme tiredness
  • Sore throat
  • Headache
  • Muscle aches or joint pain
  • Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
  • Abdominal pain (not related to other causes)
  • Pink eye (not related to other causes)

To help reserve appointments for those without a primary health care provider, please contact your health care provider first whenever possible. If you are experiencing severe symptoms, please visit your local emergency room.
