Payroll and Human Resources Officer

LOCATION: 1 Temporary Full-Time Position in Cornwall (Non-Union)

SALARY: $25.87 to $28.93 per hour plus 12 % in lieu of benefits and 8 % in lieu of vacation.

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
The individual will be responsible for payroll administration and will support the Human Resources department, providing service effectively and efficiently. S/he will also perform a variety of accounting, budget and reporting functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate from a two-year post-secondary training in an accounting program.
  • Working towards Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification through The Canadian Payroll Association is considered an asset.
  • Three years payroll experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of and proficiency in all aspects of payroll and basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of provincial and federal legislation and labour regulations, the Employment Standards Act and collective agreements.
  • Good communication skills in English and French considered an asset.
  • Must possess a valid driver's licence and the use of an automobile.

Speech-Language Pathologist

LOCATION: 1 Temporary Full-Time position in Cornwall and Casselman offices (until February 2020)

SALARY: $35.75 to $40.86 per hour with 12% in lieu of benefits and 8% in lieu of vacation pay

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
The individual organizes and directs speech language pathology treatment for the English population and education programs for pre-school children up to the age of five years in accordance with CASLPO.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A graduate from an accredited university in speech language pathology with eligibility for CASLPO membership.
  • Experience working with young children and parents.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s licence and the use of an automobile.

Public Health Nurse

LOCATION: 1 Permanent Full-Time Public Health Nurse in Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry territories

SALARY: $62,680.80 to $82,245.80 annually

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
The individual will be responsible for various initiatives within Healthy Growth and Development, Immunization and Infectious and Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ontario certificate of competence for the current year.
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing.
  • Good communication skills in both official languages.
  • Demonstrated skills in and/or knowledge of the following:
    • community development
    • social marketing
    • health education
    • public policy
    • behavior change education
  • Certificate in C.P.R. is considered an asset.

Public Health Inspector

LOCATION: 1 Permanent Full Time position in Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry territory

SALARY: $ 64,100.40 to $ 72,399.60 annually

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
The Public Health Inspector will be responsible for monitoring, promoting and ensuring compliance with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care’ Ontario Public Health Standards (2018) under the Health and Protection and Promotion Act , related to Food Safety, Safe Water, Rabies Prevention and Control, Healthy Environments and Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control and any other programs administered by the Board of health.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of a University degree in Environmental Health or equivalent.
  • Current Certificate in Public Health Inspection.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and the use of an automobile.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • French Language skills are considered an asset.

Public Health Inspector

LOCATION: 1 Permanent Full Time position in Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry territory

SALARY: $ 64,100.40 to $ 72,399.60 annually

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
The incumbent will be responsible to provide education in matters related to community health protection, primarily on food safety, water quality and health hazards prevention; and to enforce the provisions of the Health Protection and Promotion Act.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor degree in Environmental Health or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Public Health Inspection.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's licence and the use of an automobile.
  • Good communication skills in both English and French.

Tobacco Enforcement Officer

LOCATION: 1 casual position. Location TBD.

SALARY: $29.85 to $33.72 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits and 6% in lieu of vacation.

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
To enforce tobacco provincial and municipal by-laws within the five counties. The incumbent will carry out the objectives of the Eastern Ontario Health Unit through a program of monitoring, surveillance, inspection and enforcement actions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Law enforcement diploma or a minimum of 5 years experience in an enforcement role.
  • Communication skills in both official languages.
  • Ontario driver's licence and the use of an automobile.
