Comptroller

LOCATION: 1 Permanent Full-Time Position in Cornwall (non-union)

SALARY: $80,662.40 to $94,913.00 annually

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
The incumbent will perform a variety of accounting, budget and reporting functions, and will supervise finance staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent and an accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA).
  • Proof of recognized accounting designation.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting, budget, and related financial procedures normally acquired through the completion of a university degree in business administration, commerce, economics or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Three years accounting experience working preferably in the public sector.
  • Supervisory experience would be an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Good knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Powerpoint.
  • Knowledge of Crystal Reports or SQL Reporting Services would be an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains would be an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of payroll, and good working knowledge of the Employment Standards Act.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Good communication skills in French is an asset.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and the use of an automobile.

Manager, Human Resources

LOCATION: 1 Permanent Full-Time Manager, Human Resources in Cornwall (Non-Union)

SALARY: $80,669.47 to $94,904.88 annually

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
The Manager, Human Resources is responsible for all support functions pertaining to recruitment, placement and best employment practices.
She/he will provide leadership in the development of a strategic human resources function that supports the organization’s objectives to fulfil its mission. She/he will also provide professional and technical guidelines, support and direction and foster both internal and external partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Baccalaureate degree in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years related experience in managing, developing and delivering human resources programs & services and labour relations.
  • Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of best practices regarding employment, labour relations, occupational health & safety, compensation and benefits, job evaluation, recruitment & retention, training & development, performance management, collective agreements, HRIS and organizational design programs.
  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of all legislation/regulations pertaining to areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues diplomatically and confidentially.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and the use of an automobile
  • Excellent skills in ACCESS, EXCEL and MS WORD;
  • HRPAO membership is considered an asset;

Payroll and Human Resources Officer

LOCATION: 1 Permanent Full-Time Position in Cornwall (Non-Union)

SALARY: $45,257.36 to $50,609.93 annually

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
The individual will be responsible for payroll administration and will support the Human Resources department, providing service effectively and efficiently. S/he will also perform a variety of accounting, budget and reporting functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate from a two-year post-secondary training in an accounting program.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification through The Canadian Payroll Association.
  • Three years payroll experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of and proficiency in all aspects of payroll and basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of provincial and federal legislation and labour regulations, the Employment Standards Act and collective agreements.
  • Good communication skills in English and French considered an asset.
  • Must possess a valid driver's licence and the use of an automobile.

Public Health Inspector

LOCATION: 1 Permanent Full-Time position for the Prescott-Russell territories.

SALARY: $64,100.40 to $72,399.60 annually

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Working as a member of a Public Health Team, the incumbent will be responsible to carry out inspections, investigations, education in matters related to community health protection, primarily on food safety, water quality and health hazards prevention; and to enforce the provisions of the Health Protection and Promotion Act.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor degree in Environmental Health or equivalent.
  • Current certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada).
  • Self motivated and able to complete assigned duties with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to respond to varied and shared tasks associated with working in a positive team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to participate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.

Support Clerk

LOCATION: 1 Permanent Full-Time Support Clerk for the Prescott-Russell territory.

SALARY: $39,694.20 to $44,844.80 annually

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
The incumbent will provide general clerical support to a group of public health staff under the direction of a supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 graduate with a minimum of one year experience.
  • One year post secondary training in a program dedicated to the development of clerical skills preferred.

Systems Support Officer

LOCATION: 1 Permanent Full-Time Position for the Prescott-Russell territory

SALARY: $54,327.00 to $61,370.40 annually

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
The individual will assist with the installation and maintenance of information and communication technologies in the Health Unit as well as assist with the education and training of staff as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in a program dedicated to computer science.
  • Excellent knowledge of all Windows based software, Microsoft Access and Visual Basic; Windows Designation would be an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu).
  • Excellent knowledge of office organization and function.
  • Knowledge of programs and services offered by the Eastern Ontario Health Unit.

Test Shopper

LOCATION: 2 Casual positions for Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Territory

SALARY: $ 14.00 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits plus 6% in lieu of vacation.

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
The student will be driven to a broad cross-section of tobacco retail outlets within the Eastern Ontario Health Unit area for the purpose of determining if the retailer would sell tobacco products to the Test Shopper.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years of age or younger.
  • Must have good recognition and recall abilities.
  • Must be credible, reliable and discreet.
  • Good communication skills in both official languages.
  • Should have some commitment towards preventing smoking amongst peers.
  • Must be available for court appearances during normal business (school) hours (minimal).
  • A G1 driver’s licence is required.
