PHAC COVID-19 Vaccine Study

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is funding an innovative study led by a team of physicians, researchers and communications specialists from the University of Ottawa, Montfort Hospital and the Eastern Ontario Health Unit.

This timely study will look at how digital messages about the COVID-19 vaccine can be tailored to meet parent information needs and improve vaccine uptake among children ages 6 months to 17 years old. The study uses an automated patient outreach and data collection system that enables family physicians and nurse practioners to communicate with their patients via email or text messages. Using evidence-based communications strategies, the study team will develop tailored messages for patients who are parents of children 6 months and older, based on their feedback about reasons for hesitating and sociodemographic factors. Impact on vaccine uptake will be measured over time.

We’re seeking family physicians and nurse practioners to participate in this study. For more information, please contact the study team at info@cpin-rcip.com or at 613-746-4621, ext. 6420.
