Dental Health Educators/Assistant (Permanent Full-Time)

Location: Prescott Russell Territory

Salary: $49,722.40 to $56,201.60 annually

Description of Job:
The individual will work within a public health team to support dental care delivery to children, youth and seniors in a public health clinic. The individuals will also be responsible to promote oral health in the community at large in accordance with mandatory program guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized program in dental assisting Level II.
  • Previous experience in a private dental office, teaching, or a public health environment is preferred.
  • Current certification with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association, at Level II.
  • Hold NDAEB certificate (National Dental Assisting Examining Board).
  • HARP (Healing Arts Radiation Protection Commission) certified.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills in both English and French.
  • Must possess a valid driver's licence and the use of an automobile.

Speech-Language Pathologists (Bilingual)

Location: Permanent Full-Time position for the Prescott-Russell Territory

Salary: $ 72,854.60 to $ 83,265.00 annually

Description of Job:
The individual organizes, prepares, and delivers both in-person and virtual speech and language pathology assessment/treatment and education programs to preschool children and their family/caregivers.

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in speech-language pathology.
  • Eligibility for CASLPO membership.
  • Experience working with young children and their family/caregivers.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French.

Part-Time Dentist (Contract)

Location: 1 contract part-time position within the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Territory

Salary: To be determined

Description of Job:
Working in a team environment, the Dentist will offer clinical dental services while promoting preventative oral health behaviours. The dentist will provide services for several publicly funded dental programs for low-income population in a public health clinic. Clients accessing services are children, seniors and vulnerable population. Services vary depending on the program.

Qualifications:

  • Must be registered with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario as a Dentist.
  • Must have experience working with children.
  • Good communication skills in both official languages considered an asset.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and the use of an automobile.

Public Health Inspector (SDG)

Location: One permanent Full-Time position for SDG Territory (Ontario)

Salary: $ 71,507.80 to $ 80,753.40 annually

Description of Job:
Working as a member of a Public Health Team, the incumbent will be responsible to carry out inspections, investigations, education in matters related to community health protection, primarily on food safety, water quality, health hazards prevention and emergency preparedness; and to enforce the provisions of the Health Protection and Promotion Act.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or equivalent.
  • Current certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada).
  • Self motivated and able to complete assigned duties with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to respond to varied and shared tasks associated with working in a positive team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to participate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and the use of an automobile.
  • Good communication skills in English and French are required.

Executive Assistant

Location: 1 Temporary Full Time Position (until December 31, 2023) in Cornwall (Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Territory)

Salary: $38.24 to $43.67 hourly with 12% in lieu of benefits and 10% vacation pay

Description of Job:
The candidate will support the Medical Officer of Health and/or the Directors in their daily activities and assist in the organization and implementation of the Health Unit’s mandate. The individual will also perform secretarial and receptionist functions for senior administrative staff and relieve and assist other non-union staff in their respected assignments and responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of post secondary education in administrative and secretarial duties.
  • A minimum of five years secretarial or administrative assistant experience at a high level of responsibility.
  • Minimum typing speed of 65 words per minute.
  • Demonstrated organization, planning and coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in Windows based computer systems, database and word processing tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook).
  • Experience using the Internet.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French.
  • Must possess a valid driver's licence and the use of an automobile.
