Public Health Inspector (P-R)

Location: 1 Permanent Full-Time position for the Prescott-Russell territory

Salary: $ 64,100.40 to $ 72,399.60 annually

Description of Job:
Working as a member of a Public Health Team, the incumbent will be responsible to carry out inspections, investigations, education in matters related to community health protection, primarily on food safety, water quality and health hazards prevention; and to enforce the provisions of the Health Protection and Promotion Act.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or equivalent.
  • Current certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada).
  • Self motivated and able to complete assigned duties with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to respond to varied and shared tasks associated with working in a positive team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to participate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and the use of an automobile.
  • Good communication skills in both English and French.

Family Home Visitor (SDG)

Location: 1 Permanent Part-Time (.6 FTE) position for the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Territory

Salary: $19.14 to $21.62 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits and 6% in lieu of vacation

Description of Job:
The incumbent will work with families to build on their strengths, develop their parenting skills, and help them connect with resources in the community. The Family Home Visitor will promote Healthy Babies Healthy Children by encouraging safety, growth, and learning.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with parenting.
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of community resources and networking.
  • Awareness and willingness to promote non-violent values and practices related to discipline.
  • Good communication skills in both official languages.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized program in dental hygiene.
  • Must be a registered dental hygienist with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario.
  • Previous experience in a private dental office, teaching, or a public health environment is preferred.
  • Good understanding of public health issues related to dental health.
  • Basic skills in data base entries and data manipulation.
  • Demonstrated organization and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated skills and ability in education program development and delivery.
  • Good communication skills in both official languages.

Description of Job:
The individual will develop information and promotional resources and advertising and marketing strategies. They will build and maintain effective relationships with the media.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, journalism or related field with pertinent experience.
• Excellent knowledge of social media and social media strategies.
• Excellent aptitude working within a team, a committee or a group.
• Excellent critical analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
• French language skills considered an asset.
• Good computer knowledge and skills, in particular Microsoft Office.
