Communications Officer (Cornwall)

Location: 1 Temporary (6 month) Full-Time position in Cornwall, Ontario

Salary: $29.85 to 33.72 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits plus 6% in lieu of vacation pay

Description of Job:
The individual will develop information and promotional resources and advertising and marketing strategies. They will build and maintain effective relationships with the media.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, journalism or related field with pertinent experience.
• Excellent knowledge of social media and social media strategies.
• Excellent aptitude working within a team, a committee or a group.
• Excellent critical analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
• French language skills considered an asset.
• Good computer knowledge and skills, in particular Microsoft Office.
• Must possess a valid driver's licence and the use of an automobile.

Dental Health Educator / Assistant

Location: One Permanent Full-Time position in SDG territory
One Permanent Full-Time position in Prescott-Russell territory

Salary: $47,320‬.00 to $53,489.8‬0 annually

Description of Job:
The individual will work within a public health team to support dental care delivery to children, youth and seniors in a public health clinic. The individual will also be responsible to promote oral health in the community at large in accordance with mandatory program guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a recognized program in dental assisting Level II.
• Previous experience in a private dental office, teaching, or a public health environment is preferred.
• Current certification with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association, at Level II.
• Hold NDAEB certificate (National Dental Assisting Examining Board).
• HARP (Healing Arts Radiation Protection Commission) certified.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Good communication skills in both English and French.
• Must possess a valid driver's licence and the use of an automobile.

Public Health Promoter

Location: 1 permanent full-time position in the Prescott-Russell Territory

Salary: 63,317.80 to $ 72,363.20 annually

Description of Job:
DESCRIPTION OF JOB: The individual will be responsible for the development of various initiatives within the Physical Activity, Smoking Cessation, Injury Prevention and Falls Prevention programs.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant educational background at the baccalaureate level.
  • Demonstrated skills in and/or knowledge of community development, social marketing, education, behaviour change education and public policy.
  • Good communication skills in both official languages.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's licence and the use of an automobile.

Public health Inspector

Location: 1 Permanent Full Time position in the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry territory

Salary: $ 68,049.80 to $ 76,858.60 annually

Description of Job:
The incumbent will be responsible to provide education in matters related to community health protection, primarily on food safety, water quality and health hazards prevention; and to enforce the provisions of the Health Protection and Promotion Act.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor degree in Environmental Health or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Public Health Inspection.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's licence and the use of an automobile.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • French language skills considered an asset.
