Dental Health Educators/Assistants (Permanent Full-Time)

Location: Prescott Russell Territory

Salary: $47,320‬.00 to $53,489.8‬0 annually

Description of Job:
The individual will work within a public health team to support dental care delivery to children, youth and seniors in a public health clinic. The individuals will also be responsible to promote oral health in the community at large in accordance with mandatory program guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized program in dental assisting Level II.
  • Previous experience in a private dental office, teaching, or a public health environment is preferred.
  • Current certification with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association, at Level II.
  • Hold NDAEB certificate (National Dental Assisting Examining Board).
  • HARP (Healing Arts Radiation Protection Commission) certified.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills in both English and French.

Casual COVID Department Support – Systems Support

Location: 1 Casual position for SD&G and Prescott-Russell territories

Salary: $23.51 to $26.56 per hour with 12% in lieu of benefits and 6% in lieu of vacation pay.

Description of Job:
The individual will assist with the installation and maintenance of information and communication technologies at the Health Unit.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary school education in a program dedicated to computer science or equivalent.
  • Windows Designation would be an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of all Windows based software, Microsoft Access and Visual Basic.

Layout Designer

Location: 1 Temporary Full-Time position for the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry territory (1 year contract, position is eligible for Mobile Workforce/Teleworking as per Company policy)

Public Health Inspector

Location: 1 Permanent Full-Time position for the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Territory (Ontario)

Salary: $ 69,069 to $ 78,005.20 annually

Description of Job:
Working as a member of a Public Health Team, the incumbent will be responsible to carry out inspections, investigations, education in matters related to community health protection, primarily on food safety, water quality and health hazards prevention; and to enforce the provisions of the Health Protection and Promotion Act.

Lead, Health Hazard and Emergency Management Programs

Location: 1 permanent full time position for the SDG or P-R territory (location to be determined)

Salary: $ 78,660.40 to $ 88,852.40 annually

Description of Job:
The individual will support program managers in identifying, investigating and managing relevant health hazards and risks to public health, provide assistance with the surveillance of environmental health status of the community, assist in the risk assessment and investigation of known and/or suspected public health hazards, and assist in the development of EOHU emergency response plan and related activities.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) or related discipline (in progress or completion).
  • Certified Public Health Inspector.
  • Relevant experience working in the field of public health.
  • Successful completion of an EOHU approved Infection Prevention and Control course is considered an asset.
  • Excellent understanding of public health issues and environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in and/or knowledge of the following:

                 - Foundational standards and OPHS.

                 - Policy development and advocacy.

                 - Coaching and mentoring practices.

                 - Emergency Planning and Management.

                 - Health hazards, Infectious and Zoonotic disease.

Description of Job:
Vaccinators will support the Eastern Ontario Health Unit’s Immunization Program by administering vaccines to residents of the EOHU area while managing client and clinic flow to ensure safe, efficient and effective care

Qualifications:

- Paramedics or paramedicine, medical, or pharmacy students or other as appropriate under a Medical Officer of Health Medical Directive. Will need to show appropriate documentation regarding professional designation or education.

- Pertinent experience in a clinical setting.

- Intramuscular injection experience.

- Experience working with confidential information.

- Experience completing client assessments and conducting health teaching.

- Effective subjective and physical assessment skills to monitor adverse reactions.

The incumbent will work with families to build on their strengths, develop their parenting skills, and help them connect with resources in the community. The Family Home Visitor will promote Healthy Babies Healthy Children by encouraging safety, growth, and learning.
