Immunization and Ordering Vaccines
Hospitals and long-term care homes can receive publicly-funded influenza vaccines for their residents and staff from the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU).
In the fall of every year, both residents and staff should be immunized against influenza. Non-immunized staff may be excluded from work during influenza outbreaks.
Residents over the age of 65 or people suffering from certain medical conditions should also receive the vaccine against pneumonia (pneumococcal disease).
