Individuals Booked for a Second Dose on or After August 28 Must Reschedule to an Earlier Date
2021-07-15
The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) is informing the public that mass COVID-19 vaccination clinics are expected to conclude by August 27th, 2021. As a result, over 16,000 individuals will need to bump up their second dose appointments.
Thanks to ample vaccine supply and accelerated second dose appointments for all individuals aged 12 years and older, there will no longer be a need for mass clinics beyond August 27th. Mass clinics scheduled on or after August 28th will be cancelled. Individuals booked for a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at a mass clinic on or after August 28th must re-book to an earlier date, on or prior to August 27th, 2021.
Re-booking is available at Ontario.ca/bookvaccine. Individuals who require assistance with booking can call the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900. For questions, call 1-888-999-6488. A minimum of 28 days must pass between the first and second vaccine if you had Pfizer or Moderna for your first dose, or 8 weeks if you had AstraZeneca. (Click here to see exceptions for certain populations.)
Eligible individuals are also welcome to walk-in to EOHU Vaccination Clinics. For some, this may be a more convenient option than rebooking. Hundreds of spots are available on:
- Saturday July 17, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Cornwall Benson Centre. No walk-ins from noon to 1 p.m.
- Sunday July 18, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Casselman JR Brisson Arena. No walk-ins from noon to 1 p.m.
