EOHU Continues to Provide COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics

2021-08-26

As part of the last mile strategy, the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) will offer smaller, community-based and easy-to-access COVID-19 vaccination clinics after mass clinics conclude on August 27th, 2021.

Vaccines will be offered by appointment and to walk-ins in six locations throughout the EOHU. To book, call 1 800 267-7120 or email info@eohu.ca to provide your name and a phone number where you can be reached during the day. Please have your health card on hand if you have one.

For locations and walk-in hours, please visit www.EOHU.ca/vaccines regularly to confirm the hours and locations as they vary by clinic and by week. The List of Upcoming COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics will be updated by end of week for the following week.

Pop-Up Clinics

Walk-in pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics will continue throughout the EOHU region. For the List of Upcoming COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics, visit www.EOHU.ca/vaccines. Organizations, workplaces or community groups may request a pop-up vaccination clinic on their site.

School Clinics

The EOHU is working in partnership with local school boards and schools to offer COVID-19 vaccination clinics in schools to eligible students, educators and school staff. Information is being shared with parents and guardians.

Eligibility

To be eligible, individuals must turn 12 or older in 2021; and, for a second dose, a minimum of 21 days must have passed since the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine or 28 days since the first dose of the Moderna vaccine. Those aged 17 and under who qualify for the vaccine will only be offered the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for both doses.

At this time third doses of vaccine are not recommended for the general population. Third doses will be offered to select vulnerable populations based on the recommendation of the Chief Medical Officer of Health and health experts.
